Swingin' through the jungle

Have you seen the new Jungle theme? It's a little pricey at $50,000 but it's a lot of fun. You have to be level 20 to unlock it. Looks like there is lots to do in the cage. It really has a jungle feel but it also seems a little crowded with stuff. I would suggest only putting a couple of birds in there.

It's also dangerous! Today, a little Goudian Finch was caught by a big black panther in the Jungle! Poor thing. But I managed to save it and put it up for adoption. Hmm, I may have to stick to letting my birds fly around in the kitchen!

I saw some posts on the Facebook page where people said that they purchased the Jungle theme but that they didn't receive the theme. It's there. All you need to do is click "Use it" and you will then see the theme.

I have also expanded my cage! So now I can apply different themes to each one. I'm very excited about that. What are your favorite themes?

Birdland Gift Guide

When it comes to having neighbors in Birdland, keeping them happy enough to send you gifts is a must. It's not only an excellent way to gain items that you cannot buy yet, but it's a great way to show people that you are helping them with their birds as well. Birdland is just like any other Facebook game in the fact that it has some excellent free gifts that you can send to neighbors and friends. Here is your Birdland gift guide so you'll know what gifts might help your neighbors and friends the most in the game:

Feeders: Feeders can be expensive in the shop, especially if you're first starting out. So, gifting feeders to friends and neighbors is always a great idea to those that might be starting out in the game to help them save their money for buying more birds. There are usually a few different types of feeders, such as blue ones or love feeders. There are also water tanks, which can be really expensive for those that are just starting out.

Toys: There are always going to be fun bird toys in the free gifts area of Birdland, such as wooden bell sticks, large bird toys, and stairs. Take a look at your friend's cages and see if they are lacking a certain kind of toy before you send it so that they will have something new and unique to send to your friends.

Decorations: In the free gifts area of Birdland, there are tons of free decorations that you can send to your neighbors and friends. These include flowers, butterflies, trees, tiki heads, clocks, and so much more. You can easily send tons of great decorations to any of your friends. And, it will mean more to them if you take the time to see what theme they have decorated their cages with already and send something that will match.

Birdhouses: Birdhouses are a really cool way to give your birds a place to hide when they want to and just look neat in your cages. You can either buy them at 3000+ coins each ... or you can simply gift them and ask for one in return. It won't be long and you'll have some great birdhouses in your cages for your birds to play in.

Sticks: You've probably already seen some of the beautifully designed sticks in the shop and are wishing that you had the money to buy one. From red carpet to Arabian sticks, they are so much prettier than those plain wooden sticks that you already have. How do you get them for free? Gift one to your friends and neighbors and ask them to send you one back!

The key to getting gifts back is to gift your neighbors and friends daily. It only takes a few seconds, and if you are already in the game playing, just shoot everyone a quick gift and ask for one in return. You'll soon find that you'll be flooded with great freebies for your cages.

Tips For Power Leveling In Birdland

Starting off in any game can make you feel like you'll never get to those higher levels where you can afford tons of great items and cool birds - especially when you have friends and neighbors that are super high levels. You wonder how they got there and what they did to get there so fast. Did they buy coins to level up? Do they know some secret that you don't know? Or are they playing 24/7 to level the way that they do?

The truth is that there are some simple things that you can easily do to really level your cages up and be able to purchase some awesome things from the shop. Want to know what they are? Here are some great tips that you can use to power level in Birdland:

1. Feed Your Birds: While this only gives you 1 experience point when you feed or water your birds, do it daily. It will help to boost you a little bit, especially when you have a lot of birds.

2. Clean Your Cage: This also helps to boost your experience points, even though it's just a small amount. Especially at lower levels, you will find that even those small experience points will help to boost your level quicker.

3. Visit Your Neighbors Daily: Normally, when you visit them, you will get some experience points and coins for doing so. You'll also get the chance to gather coins from their treasure chests as well as do other things to build up some experience.

4. Feed Your Neighbor's Birds: Every time that you fill one of their food or water bowls, you'll get 5 experience points. This can add up pretty fast, especially if they have a lot of birds in their cages that are all hungry. The easiest way to do this is to go around their cage once and fill up every bowl. Then, on the first one you filled up, click again and just keep clicking "Fill" every time it gets really low. You'll easily build up some great experience points by doing this.

5. Answer Calls For Help From Neighbors: Sometimes, even if you've already helped that neighbor today, you'll get a call for help in their cage. Always answer these calls, as it will easily gain you about 9 experience points and some coins. It's an excellent way to build up some experience points quickly.

6. Always Love Your Neighbor's Birds: When you click on their
unhappy birds, it will give you the option to give them some love. Under their health or happiness, it will say something like "I Love
Fala". Click that button and little hearts will appear around the bird. Once that is over, you'll gain 5 experience points per bird. If you have neighbors that have 20+ birds in one cage, you can easily earn over one hundred experience points by doing this. So never neglect your neighbor's birds - they can easily help you level up quickly.

Just make sure that you use these few little tips daily - or more - and you will easily find that it's not hard at all to power level in Birdland and be way ahead of your neighbors!

A Day In The Life Of Buddy The Black Budgie

Today started out like any other day, just flying around the cage - enjoying the new plants. The food was good, water was cold, and the other birds were all chatting about this and that. I had just settled down for a nice little nap, when I heard a new voice in the cage. I looked around to see who it was when I laid my little birdy eyes on the most beautiful new bird I had ever seen. She was hot pink, with a beautiful black crown that was so shiny and bright, you couldn't stop staring at it.

I had to talk to her. So, I tried to fly up and say "hello" to her, but I simply couldn't talk! I h

ad to grab a quick bite out of the feeder next to her so I wouldn't look dumb and then I flew off to the opposite side of the cage.

It wasn't long before my friend Bongo flew over to talk. He had seen me try to talk to the new bird, and figured that I had gotten shy. So, he talked to his mate, Fala, and found out about the new girl in the cage. It turns out her name was Gracie and she had just come from the store. She hadn't ever lived in a normal cage before and she was excited to meet everyone here - especially me! I couldn't believe it, she wanted to meet me?

Bongo said that he and Fala would be at the feed bowl with Gracie in about 10 minutes and I should come. I told him I would try, that I wasn't sure I could talk to a bird that beautiful. Bongo smiled at me and flew off.

I flew over to the mirror and primped and preened my feathers for a bit. I simply had to look my best if I was going to head over to the feed bowl and meet her. But I was so nervous, no new bird had ever made me this nervous before! I was worried that I would say something stupid or look foolish to her. Oh, she was so pretty - I didn't want to mess anything up.

It seemed like the 10 minutes flew by - figuratively speaking - and I saw that Bongo and Fala were already at the bowl with Gracie. I knew that I had to go, but I was so nervous, my tummy felt like I had been eating butterflies all day. I flew up to the feed bowl and circled it a couple of times. Bongo gave me an odd look as if to say, sit down!

I finally landed next to Bongo and grabbed a quick bite out of the food bowl. When I looked up, I noticed that she was looking right at me. It's a good thing that she couldn't tell I was blushing!

"Hi" she said "I'm Gracie." She batted those pretty eyes at me. I almost couldn't talk for a moment - but I finally managed to squeak out "I'm Buddy." She flew over and landed next to me. She sat still for a few seconds, then grabbed a bite to eat and munched it quietly. I wondered if she was as nervous as I was.

"Well, Fala and I have to go check on the egg. We'll catch up with you two later." And, with that, both Bongo and Fala flew off and left me and Gracie alone. It wasn't long before Gracie leaned over and nuzzled her head into my neck. Oh my goodness! I thought - she likes me! After that I wasn't nervous any longer. We sat and talked about all kinds of things, from what she had seen in the pet shop to what the other birds were like here. Everything was going great, and I think that I have finally found my mate!

Pink or Blue May Your Wish Come True

I have 6 birds in my cage now and I have been dying to breed them. But up until yesterday, my female, Gracie was still a teenager. Today, she became a full-fledged adult so I let her wander around the cage to see who she'd like to be her handsome Prince. She chose Blue!

Before I knew it, Gracie and Blue started snuggling, but there wasn't enough room in the cage for them to have real privacy and mate. So I quickly expanded my cage for 600 Birdland coins and presto! A baby egg was laid.

It took the full 9 minutes for their baby egg to incubate, but it was so worth the wait. Today, I am proud to announce that Gracie and Blue have become the proud parents of a healthy baby bird named Turq! Here he is with his mama Gracie. He looks a lot like her, don't ya think?

Gracie and Blue have been spending ample time with him to teach him the ropes. I imagine he will be flying through the house on a kitchen adventure soon enough. I'm looking forward to that.

Buying And Selling Birds In BirdLand

When it comes to your cage, you strive to have the coolest birds possible right? So, what do you do if you are short on coins and really want more birds? Well there are several ways that you can get the coins you need to buy more birds or even gain some free birds. Here are several tips on buying and selling birds to help you build up your cage with ease:

1. Buy cheap birds when you can - Start off with the cheap birds that the store

offers and when they get to an adult, you can sell them for a profit. Of course, cheaper birds won't sell for as much as higher priced birds. So, it's always a good idea to raise a few of the cheaper birds, breed them for more free birds, and then sell and buy more expensive birds. It won't take long before you have a pretty good amount of cash!

2. Breed your birds - When your birds turn into adults, breed them so that you can gain new baby birds and then you can sell the adults. This is an excellent way to gain new and unique birds for your cage without spending any cash at all. To breed your birds, simply click on one of them and then click "Breed". That bird and a bird of the opposite sex will fly down to the little hay on the bottom and cuddle for a bit. Then, a small egg will appear and you'll get a notification that they are expecting a baby bird. The cool thing is that when you breed birds, you don't always get the same color bird that you bred. So, breed together two different colored birds and you will get a unique baby bird that you cannot buy in the shop. Aside from getting unique colored birds, you'll be able to sell them for more money than a normal bird. Make sure that you've got plenty of room though, so that you'll have room for all of these babies!

3. Sell adult birds - You can not actually sell your birds until they are adults, so you will have to wait until they are adults before you can sell them. Just make sure that you breed them with several different colored birds before you do sell them so that you will get the most birds from your breeding and find some unique colored birds to sell and enjoy.

4. Specialty birds - There are plenty of times when special birds will pop up on your screen. These include endangered birds, oil covered pelicans, penguins, and more. Share these with your friends whenever you can and buy one for your self with Facebook credits. (Facebook credits are cheap, such as 70 for only $7.00.) When you can, buy one of these for your cage. If you can buy two of them, breed them and sell them for more money.

Once you start to play around with buying, breeding, and selling birds, you will find that your money will get a large boost without doing much work. Plus, you'll start to really build up some very unique birds and fill your cages with some that you cannot buy anywhere.

Earning Coins In Bird Land

Ready to buy some of those bigger items for your cage but don't have the coins to do so?  Well, if you aren't ready to shell out some real money for coins, there are several great ways that you can earn enough coins to really deck out your cages!  Here are some excellent ways that you can earn coins in Bird Land:

1. Neighbors - Visit your neighbors daily as you can earn coins from their cages several different ways.  The main way that you'll earn coins from them is by clicking on their treasure chest which fills up every 24 hours.  Also, you can clean their cage and earn coins and experience as well as fill up their food and water bowls - keep filling them and you'll keep earning coins and experience until all of their birds are fed.  You can also give some love to their birds and you will easily find that experience and coins will flood your way.  The more neighbors you have, the better off you'll be as you can visit them and help them with their cages for experience and coins.

2. Treasure Chest - Just like in your neighbors cages, there is a treasure chest in your cage as well.  You can click on this every 24 hours to gain a decent amount of coins to help you on your way.

3. Sell Your Adult Birds - While you can sell the birds that you adopt for coins, make sure that you wait until they are adults to do so.  Why?  Well, adult birds sell for more coins than younger birds, so the longer you can wait to sell them, the more coins you will make.  And, the higher you are in levels, the more varieties of birds you can buy and sell.

4. Play The Games - In Bird Land, you can play the game found on your interface and earn a pretty good amount of coins, feathers, and experience.  This will not only help you level and gain feathers you need, but they'll also give you a pretty good boost to your coins.  You can play these games several times in one day, so don't miss out on them when you have the chance.

Just by doing these basic things daily, you will find that you can earn a ton of coins that will easily allow you to keep on buying birds, items, decorations and more.  Of course, you can always buy coins as well, which will help you refill your coins faster and help you level faster as well since you'll be able to purchase specialty items that will boost your experience quicker than the normal items.  And, if you have the right amount of Facebook credits you can purchase those special birds when they are found in your cage which will earn you a ton more money when you sell them as adults.

Why Do You Need Neighbors In Birdland

Just like any fun social game on Facebook, Birdland gives you the opportunity to visit friends that also play the game. One of the best things about the neighbors here in Birdland is that you don't have to send out requests for neighbors - any of your friends that are already playing the game will automatically appear in your neighbors list! Of course, it doesn't hurt to send out a few more neighbors!

So why are neighbors important in Birdland? Well, there are several reasons why. The main one being that you can gain experience points and coins just by visiting your friend's cages daily. This is a great way to bump up your cash and your experience without doing much at all.

While you are visiting your neighbor's cages, make sure that you take the time to click on their treasure chest for your free coins. You can also earn a lot of experience just by helping them out. For example, you can refill their bird's food and water dishes earning experience points each time you do. You can also clean up their cage and show their birds some love. Everything that you do for their cage or their birds will earn you experience and sometimes coins as well. So, this can be an excellent way to help you level up - especially for those that are lower levels or those that are only a few experience points away from that next level.

Also, you will get special help requests from your neighbors while you're playing. These will have you help clean up your neighbor's cages, feed or water their birds, or even just give their birds some attention while they are gone. No matter what special help request you get, it will also earn you plenty of great experience and coins - which makes it well worth your time to answer these requests.

Another great reason that you will want to have plenty of neighbors is the fact that you can gift them special items and receive gifts from them as well. Some of these gifts include special feeders, toys, decorations, bird houses, and more that you cannot buy in the store. So, you want to give gifts so that you can receive them as well from you neighbors.

Curious on how to gain neighbors? Make sure that you check out the blogs on http://blog.birdlandgame.com and add some of the players that have posted comments about the game. You can also send out neighbor requests by clicking on the "Call For Neighbors" under the toucan at the bottom left corner of your game screen. By adding more neighbors, you will find that you can easily start to level up faster than before and you'll gain some great goodies in the process!

Another take on Getting Started In Birdland

Ready to take on the birds? Well, getting started in Birdland is really simple - if you know just a few tips to help you get going on the right foot... 'er wing. So, let's go through the step up tips that can help you really get flapping with your new birds.

When you first log in to Birdland on Facebook, you will start out with 1500 coins to get you going. (Each day, you will be able to collect more coins so you want to make sure that you log in daily to collect this free cash.) You then get to choose your first bird to adopt. By clicking on the shop button, you will get to choose from three different birds: a yellow budgie, a blue budgie, or a green budgie as seen in this screen shot.

You will also see that there are some great birds that you'll be able to unlock as you level up as well!

Once you adopt a bird, you get to learn the basics of taking care of it. For example, you have to feed your bird and keep them happy. You will learn how to feed your new birds and how to play with them which increases their happiness. To feed your new birds, you simply click on the food dish and then select "fill". Your birds will come over to eat and the bowl will automatically refill if it gets empty. Every time that you fill their bowls, you will gain experience points. Also, you can click on your birds and then click the little heart to love your bird. You will gain experience points from this as well as petting your birds. To pet your birds, simply click on the hand tool and then click and hold one of your birds.

But what good is a plain old cage? In Birdland, you can decorate up your cage however you want and you can even buy special themed decorations that will help you really liven up your cage. From Spring time to Night Desert scenes, Paris to Arctica, there is a great theme that will reflect your personality that you will love. There are some beautiful decorations that you can choose from - all of which will give you experience points that will help you level your cage up. Once you level, you will gain access to more birds, accessories, decorations, and themes in the game.

So what do you do when you are done decorating your cage, feeding your birds, and petting them? Well, you can easily play a game in Birdland that will land you coins, experience, and some other goodies along the way. These games are extremely fun, and you'll enjoy guiding your little birdies through these games as well as the loot that you'll gain from them.
